CHELMSFORD, MA — June 17, 2025 — Data Plus, a leading provider of financial management solutions for the hospitality industry, announced today that its founder and CEO, Bruce Bensetler, was inducted into the Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) at the HITEC 2025 conference in Indianapolis.
The Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame is the industry’s highest honor, recognizing individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to hospitality technology. Bensetler was honored for more than five decades of innovation and leadership in building purpose-built ERP solutions that streamline hotel financial operations and elevate hospitality accounting standards.
Bensetler founded Data Plus in 1973, introducing one of the industry’s first hospitality-specific ERP systems in 1986. Under his leadership, the company has delivered eight generations of software, transitioned to the Microsoft Azure cloud, developed over 200 system integrations, and launched DP Pay, the first fully embedded vendor payment platform tailored for hotels. Today, Data Plus solutions are used at more than 1,200 properties across 15 countries, making it a leader in the field.
“Each year, as I attended HITEC, I studied the list of prior inductees to the HFTP Hall of Fame and reflected on their long careers and incredible contributions,” said Bensetler. “I never imagined my work would be considered in that same light. It has always been about the joy of solving problems and collaborating with some of the most clever and talented professionals in hospitality.”
In addition to his product innovation, Bruce has been an active member of HFTP and the HFTP New England Chapter, a frequent speaker at industry events, and a longtime contributor to the advancement of industry standards, including the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
Bensetler was honored alongside fellow inductee Luis Segredo during the Tuesday Headliner presentation at HITEC 2025, the world’s largest hospitality technology conference.
